Wilderness First Aid (WFA 16 hours program)
and Optional CPR-AED program WFA is now a pre-requisite for some Philmont high adventure
programs and other High Adventure activities (check your program
guide for details). WFA is a practical 16-hour course that
prepares you to recognize and avoid wilderness hazards and to provide first
aid with whatever equipment you have or can improvise. This intense two-day
program is for mature individuals and is essential for those who enjoy the
wilderness or may be where emergency services are not available. Upon
successful completion of all requirements (both days), participants will
receive a nationally recognized Completion of Training Record valid for three
years. Great for hurricane preparedness also.
