· Venturing Week at Philmont – August 3-9, 2009 – A week long of Venturing focused activities. · Summer’s Last Bash – Camp La-No-Che - August 14-16, 2009 – A weekend fun of fun, activities and socializing and to celebrate before getting back to school.  Download the registration flier from here.

· Marlinespike Conference – Camp La-No-Che – August 28-30 and September 11-13, 2009 - The Marlinespike Conference consists of a standard set of education modules and optional education modules relevant to our yachting environment. · Gulf Stream Council Regatta – Palm Beach, FL – November 20-22, 2009 -  Registration information for this Gulf Stream Council event is available here.  For additional information e-mail skippership777@yahoo.com

· Wilderness First Aid (WFA 16 hours program) and Optional CPR-AED program –– WFA is now a pre-requisite for some Philmont high adventure programs and other High Adventure activities (check your program guide for details).  WFA is a practical 16-hour course that prepares you to recognize and avoid wilderness hazards and to provide first aid with whatever equipment you have or can improvise. This intense two-day program is for mature individuals and is essential for those who enjoy the wilderness or may be where emergency services are not available. Upon successful completion of all requirements (both days), participants will receive a nationally recognized Completion of Training Record valid for three years. Southern Region Sea Scouts

Southern Region Yachting Initiative - The purpose of the Venturing Yachting Initiative is to support Council Venturing with Sailing and Boating resource, education, training, and activity material for Venturing leaders and youth.

Sea Scouts BSA - Sea Scouts is a specialized segment of the Venturing program, which was organized to address members' boating skills and promote knowledge of our maritime heritage. Sea Scout units, called "ships," focus on sailing and cruising either sailboats or power vessels.

Powder Horn - The Powder Horn course is designed to introduce and expose Venturing and Boy Scouting adult unit leaders to the activities and resources necessary to operate a successful outdoor/high adventure unit-level program.  It is intended to help adult leaders get out of the box in finding and using resources.  A list of Powder Horn courses planned in the Southern Region can be found here.

Seabadge - Seabadge is an advanced leadership training experience for BSA Sea Scouting Adult leaders, committee members and support personnel.
